Porth Joke beach - low tide

The lovely beach of Porth Joke is slightly off the beaten track, located between Crantock and Holywell Bay. It is formed from a deep inlet and at low tide the beach is far longer than it is wide.

This photo was taken at low tide on a Spring afternoon with barely a soul around.

The beach is also known as Polly Joke and this is probably derived from the Corhish pol lejouack which means Jackdaw cove.
