Looking back, I'm not sure which came first the photos or the website. It was back in 2004 when I acquired my first digital camera and set to work documenting the stunning scenery of Cornwall. Admittedly these weren't all great photos, but I certainly felt the world needed to see them! However, it is quite possible the Cornwall Guide started long before there was ever a website.

I think growing up surfing in West Cornwall set me up as the perfect explorer. As soon as I was old enough to drive I'd be loading up the car in search of more and more obscure spots, looking for perfect uncrowded waves.

The Cornwall Guide is almost as much for my benefit as anyone else's. It represents what I love about Cornwall focusing on the history and natural beauty. I am somewhat loathed to promote Cornwall as a holiday destination, it doesn't really appeal to me and other people can do that.
