Dobwalls

A funny name, it is probably a corruption of Doublebois (the next village along the A38) meaning two woods in French, the heavily wooded local area possibly backing the theory up. This village on the busy road between Bodmin and Liskeard was home to the Dobwalls Family Adventure Park. However, the park is being re-developed into eco-friendly retreat lodges. The successful Southern Centre gallery and coffee shop will remain open.

In Dobwalls there is also an array of interesting exhibits, including antiquities and works of art as well as a copy of Tutankhamun’s death mask, at Dobwalls' Ancient Egyptian Centre, right next door to the Highwayman pub. Originally a chapel of ease, the local church is dedicated to St Peter.
