Within the gallery you'll find works from many of the leading St Ives and Newlyn School artists, as well as many other distinguished artists who have painted in the county. Our inventory consists mainly of traditional works with a strong emphasis on Cornish subjects.

The gallery is situated at the top of historic Chapel Street in Penzance and is within five minutes walking distance of both Penlee House Gallery and also The Exchange Gallery. It is a large, spacious gallery set out over three floors. The ground floor is used for changing exhibitions and the upper two floors are used for mixed work by gallery artists.

A curator of exhibitions in Britain and abroad for 40 years, Gilly Wyatt Smith moved Yew Tree Gallery to Cornwall in 2001. Exhibitions often explore our connection with the natural world and the fragile balance between mankind and nature. Lively & often humorous work by renowned artists across the disciplines is shown in the 2-roomed gallery and sculpture gardens.
