Polperro from the Warren

Looking back along the Warren towards Island House and Polperro harbour below. Most of the cottages along here date back to the 16th century and would have been home to the fishermen and merchants of this prosperous fishing village.

Island house in the centre of the picture was first built as a defensive look-out but later became the customs house. You may be surprised to know the building continues down another two storeys from here. It is now a holiday cottage.
