A quick tour of the beaches in Newquay Bay. These are the six beaches that are within easy walking distance from the town.
Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of Newquay itself the beaches here are all pretty stunning. I wouldn't want to say which beach is the best in Newquay but this 4k video gives you a good look at them in their best light, on a quiet early summer morning with a low tide.
Footage from Storm Ciaran arriving in West Cornwall. This was the third named storm of the year and in a different league in terms of power. Whilst not the most devastating storm to hit the Cornish coast in recent years there were some spectacular scenes out on the cliffs of the north coast.
Storm Agnes hit the UK at the very start of the Autumn. Making landfall on the 27th September 2023 the storm brought strong southwesterly winds with it.
Although some parts of the country saw gusts of over 80mph the winds were somewhat tamer in Cornwall. That said the south coast dod still take a fair hammering and it was quite difficult to stand still at times when I was filming in Marazion.

Sometimes referred to as Town beach this is perhaps the easiest of Newquay's beaches to get to on foot and is fairly close to the town centre. All you need to do is head down Beach Road and you're on the sand!
Towan beach is situated right next to the harbour, with the harbour wall making a rather abrupt end to the beach. This location makes it somewhat more sheltered than the beaches further along as Towan Head blocks some of the Atlantic swells from getting in here.
