Seaton Beach

Seaton is a small village with a beach located three miles east of Looe at the mouth of the River Seaton (Not to be confused with Seaton in Devon). Seaton beach is mostly shingle and stretches all the way from the river to the small resort of Downderry, about a mile to the east.

Immediately to the north of the village is the Seaton Valley Countryside Park, one of only four country parks in Cornwall. The park occupies fifty four hectares of a once-derelict caravan site and is home to a sensory garden, numerous cycleways and footpaths and the first nature reserve in Cornwall to receive a green flag (the green space equivalent of the blue flag used for beaches). The nature reserve is home to Otters, Kingfishers and Fritillary Butterflies and includes a nature trail that can be followed for nearly two miles, to Hessenford.

Seaton village, which straggles up the River Seaton valley, has a pub, a beach cafe and several shops.
