Tim Saunders - Bard and Cornish Language Poet
Tim Saunders is one of the leading poets writing in the Cornish language today. He has also produced poetry and other work in Welsh, Irish and Breton as well as in Cornish. He is a bard of the Cornish Gorseth and a literary historian.
The Alternative Eurovision Song Contest features minority languages, including Catalan, Welsh, Breton and, of course, Cornish. In 2003 Tim’s daughter, Gwenno, came second in the contest, winning the audience vote with her song “Vodya”. Tim Saunders wrote the lyrics of the heart-rending song.
