The Ploughman"s Cottage at Tremaine Manor is wonderfully atmospheric with original flagstone flooring and a wood burning stove set into a large inglenook offering a wonderful taste of country living. Tremaine Manor Estate consists of the Manor house and 12 traditional cottages, barns and a shepherd"s hut, situated within a secluded and private Hamlet dating back over 400 years.
Dating way back to the 1760s, the Ploughman"s Cottage is a stone house adjoining the Farmhouse and is approached through a little walled courtyard garden into a stone porch with heavy oak door into the sitting room with original flagstone floor worn smooth over the centuries, heavy beamed celling and stone inglenook with a wood burning stove. This room is packed full of character and adorned with harness trimmings from the horses that used to work this land. Families will love to cosy up here of an evening with a roaring fire and enjoy playing board games whilst spending quality time together. The kitchen has a tiled floor and pale blue kitchen cupboards, vaulted ceiling and beams with a window overlooking the side lawn garden. On the ground floor a fabulous four poster double bedroom and its own private en-suite shower room.
Upstairs there is a further double bedroom, a bunk bedroom which the kids will love and a family bathroom with a bath and a shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.
Outside is a small enclosed front garden with garden furniture, wooden loungers, barbecue and fire pit, whilst tucked away at the side of the property is a bespoke Japanese two person bath tub heated by a little log burning stove.
Within the grounds of the estate you will find a convenient shared laundry room for all to make use of with two washing machines and tumble dryers, ideal for washing sandy costumes after a day at the beach. Ploughman"s Cottage welcomes two dogs with an exercise area and local kennels also available. A full-size, all weather tennis court is situated in the grounds along with a games room with table tennis, pool, dartboard, bagatelle, table football, outdoor chess, boules, croquet, badminton and assorted indoor games on-site.
Tremaine enjoys its own village green, stream and duck pond along with miniature horses, pygmy goats, chickens and guinea pigs. Come and meet the animals at the Tremaine Petting Area, whilst staying here you can feed, pet and stroke our resident animals. Collect chicken eggs, and even take the eggs back to your cottage! Feed our resident ducks, stroke the guinea pigs as they do love to be cuddled. Brush the miniature horses, come and pet the pygmy goats, they do enjoy all the attention. There is also a convenient shared laundry room housing a washing machine and tumble dryer and even a little pay as you go shop for everyday essentials.
