Gun Rith (meaning 'red downs') is located a little way down the road from the Merry Maidens stone circle.
It is possible it has some significant alignment with the stone circle although this is not agreed.
At over 10ft (3.2m) tall this is quite a tall menhir. In 2002 it fell over and was re-erected in 2003 using concreted to ensure its future stability
