A real family-friendly pub, The Old Quay House is best-known for its enormous beer garden, which juts out into the Hayle Estuary. There's a lot of seating inside (it hosts a lot of events); however, most families head straight for that splendid garden. Dogs are also welcome, provided they stay on the lead.

The Old Quay serves a range of traditional pub food, including a Sunday carvery that's always extremely popular among local customers. There's a wide selection of drinks, and it's actually also a good place to come simply for a coffee.

The pub also offers B&B accommodation, in nine garden lodges overlooking the estuary. It's a good spot for a holiday, close to both Hayle and St Ives. Leave your car in the pub's large car park, and use the branch line and bus service to get around.
