The Base Camp indoor activity centre is located on the Gwel An Mor resort above Portreath but open to all. Inside the big green metal shed you will find one of the biggest and best soft play areas this end of Cornwall alongside West Cornwall's only "Clip'n'Climb" climbing wall. For the grown ups there is a cafe serving light meals, cakes, coffee and even wine.
The soft play area is set over three levels and features slides, ball pools and various other small-child-friendly activities. The main soft play section is for the over-threes while there is a smaller, self-contained play area for the toddlers on the ground floor.
Across the shed are the "Clip'n'Climb" climbing walls which offer various challenges for those aged 4 and up. As the name suggests the climbing experience is a simple as clipping onto the safety rope and climbing any one of 10 themed walls. All use the latest "Auto-belay" technology which means should you fall, jump or just want to get down you will be automatically (and gently) lowered back down to the ground.
For the more competitive climbers there are walls with timers and the transparent racing wall where you can race your opponent face to face.
