Exploring one of my favourite off-the-beaten-track places in Cornwall. This is Kennall Vale - now a nature reserve but formerly the home to the Kennall Vale Gunpowder Company.

The woods here are quite lovely and teeming with wildlife, but what makes this place really special are the ruined remains of the old gunpowder mills and processing houses. There are nearly 50 seperate buildings scattered around the woods, all in various states of surrender to nature.
