St Ives - Four Beaches from Above

Looking down over St Ives from above Bamaluz Beach. To the left is the Harbour Beach and to the right Porthgwidden Beach. The beach on the other side of the town is Porthmeor. This was taken at low tide. When the tide comes in Bamaluz all but disappears and the harbour becomes more like a harbour!

When you see St Ives from the air like this it helps make sense of where everything is. The narrow area between all the beaches is the old "Down-a-long" which from ground level is something of a maze. To the far right is the "Island" which from this shot you can clearly tell is not an island at all.
