Tucked away off the beaten track on the edge of Bodmin Moors, Bickle Bice is a cosy, ground floor apartment within a converted granite barn. Enter into the well-equipped kitchen with dining area; two steps down leads you to the cosy sitting room with its large bay window boasting superb views across the sweeping countryside, comfortable seating and an electric fire. Along the hallway, a double bedroom and a twin share the family bathroom.
From the cottage, walk across the moors or follow a quiet country lane up to the top of the moors and the village of Minions, where you will find a pub (the highest in Cornwall), village shop and café. Designated one of the few "dark sky" locations in the UK, be sure to bring along your binoculars and take in the mesmerising night sky. By day, the ever changing scenery sweeping across The Tamar Valley with Dartmoor on the far horizon will transport you instantly away from the hustle and bustle of a fast paced life, into a world of peace and tranquillity. The area is a walker"s paradise, with so much to see right on your doorstep including many relics of the rich mining history here.
Perched on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Cheesewring Farm is a Grade II listed building, created out of the surrounding moorland around 1840 and featured in a book by local author E.V. Thompson called "Chase the Wind". Bickle Bice is one of four, small barn conversions in this wonderful rural location. For larger groups, Cheesewring Cottage (above Bickle Bice and accommodating two guests) Mum"s Cottage (accommodating four guests); and Fizz Gog (accommodating two guests) are also available to book.
