A closer look at the pulpit in Truro Cathedral with the choir beyond.
The pulpit was designed by John Loughborough Pearson in the 1880s and compliments the Victorian Gothic Revivalist style of the cathedral. It is made from polished Hopton Wood stone which is quarried in Nottinghamshire.
On the seven-sided base of the pulpit are these six richly-carved niches all portraying biblical figures.
