Situated on the northern edge of Newquay is Porth Beach, or to give it its full name St Columb Porth.
The defining characteristic of the beach here is how far back it goes. It isn't that wide but a low tide it's an awfully long walk to the sea!
Porth beach is bounded to the north by Trevelgue head, a site of some archaeological interest.
