Here's a view that has changed somewhat over the years. Penzance Promenade in its heyday around the turn of the century.

What is most striking is the degree of development in Wherrytown, between Penzance and Newlyn. These days it is somewhat of a no-man's land, but back then there were the public baths, a serpentine works, grain and saw mills and even at one stage Penzance's only tin mine.
