Lloyds Signal Station - The Lizard

The Lloyds Signal Station (if you hadn't worked that out!) on Bass Point just around the corner from Lizard Point.

The signal station was originally set up by Fox and Company shipping agents (the same Fox family that owned Glendurgan). The station was to communicate, by semaphore, with vessels entering the English Channel to convey information as to the market conditions and where there owners wanted them to dock.

Lyyods of London took over operation of the station in 1883
