Another photo of the Crowns engine house out at Botallack from my recent trip over there.
This is pretty similar to the other one except it is a little darker and the sea looks a bit more ominous.
Imagine this as your view leaving work after a hard day...
This engine house was built in 1835 and contained the pump to keep the water out of the mine below. Yes, that's right below this raging sea.
Whilst the shaft here never flooded, unlike neighbouring Wheal Owles, the lift chain broke killing nine back in 1876.
