Dry Tree Menhir - Goonhilly

Juxtaposition of the ancient and modern (sorry for the cliche!)

Dry Tree menhir dates back to the Bronze Age. The stone stands about 10ft(3m) high, although that is shorter than it was originally.

It was re-erected in its current position in 1928, without its top 3 feet (1m). This was removed by soldiers during WWI for road-building purposes
