Coverack Harbour through the flowers

Coverack Harbour through the flowers

View over the flowers to a high tide Coverack Harbour. Situated on the sheltered side of the Lizard Peninsula this pretty little village has always been popular despite not being particularly close to anywhere.

The harbour dates back to 1724 and is constructed from local green serpentine and hornblende. It was built for the growing pilchard fleet that operated here and whilst the pilchard shoals are now gone there are still a number of little boats working from the harbour here.
