Caerhays Church

Caerhays Church

The church of St Michael and All Angels is situated on the edge of the Caerhays estate near Mevagissey.

Dating back to Norman times, the church was rededicated by Bishop Bronescombe in 1259.

The church and churchyard contain many references to the Trevanion family who lived at Caerhays. There is also a stone inside marking the burial place of 4 month old Isabella Byron, who would have been the aunt of Lord Byron, the poet.
