Bodmin Moor Pony

Another of those lovable little ponies that live up on Bodmin Moor. This one was on the high ground on the northern part of the moor, that's Brown Willy behind - the highest point in Cornwall.

There are about a 1,000 or so of these ponies on the moor. They are owned by local farmers who have grazing rights but roam pretty much freely. Over recent years there have been a few reports of neglect with ponies being left to fend for themselves over the winter. This one looks fairly happy and well fed though with his/her blond mane catching the morning sun.
