Gorran

Gorran Churchtown lies just inland from Gorran Haven, near Mevagissey. The village centres around the sixteenth century church of St Goran, which holds an interestingly-carved oak chair. Gorran is also home to a thriving primary school. Nearby sits the dramatic Caerhayes Castle, designed and built in the early nineteenth century by John Nash, the man responsible for the Brighton Pavilion. The castle gardens are famous for their award-winning magnolias.
