With Cornwall's rise as one of the premiere foodie destinations in the
UK it makes perfect sense that both the Duchy's traditional produce and fine-dining  renaissance are showcased in this culinary extravaganza.

Over the past few years the Food and Drink Festival has become firmly established in Cornwall's event calendar. These days it attracts over 20,000 visitors to see over a hundred different food experts and chefs display their talents and wares.

Whilst the festival comprises a range of mainly Cornish produce and creators don't be surprised to see the odd internationally acclaimed culinary talent take to the stage.
Expect to see master classes from top local chefs along with more hands on events such as wine tasting.

Local exhibitors are drawn from Cornwall's finest butchers, bakers, brewers, cheese-makers, chocolatiers and everyone in between. Many of the best known names in Cornish produce are represented with stalls offering samples, tasty treats and edible gifts.
Think artisan bread,  hand-crafted chocolates, luxury condiments, award winning cheeses, or the best of all worlds, a bespoke hamper.

One thing is for sure, a day's pottering around the stalls and tents will work up an appetite. And you're in luck; the festival's 'Croust Bar' will be serving the very best in lunch on the go. Many of Cornwall's top names in food and drink will be providing ingredients for some superlative snacking. Think along the lines of stone-baked pizzas, seafood paella, artisan pies served up with some of Cornwall's finest ales. Oh, and of course there will be a fine selection of Cornish pasties .

The Cornwall Food and Drink Festival is held in Truro's central Lemon Quay over a weekend in late September.
