It is a bustling village with great local pubs, cafes, galleries and restaurants, as well as a harbour and sandy beach. A shipwreck museum with a collection of artefacts from Titanic is always popular. The South West Coastal Path provides stunning views and skirts the village along the beach and the dramatic cliffs. There are many National Trust houses and private gardens nearby, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the renowned Eden Project are a must for all. There are many activities available nearby from deep sea fishing to kayaking and the latest water based craze of stand up paddle boarding. There are 2 golf courses within 1 mile and cycling, swimming and surfing on the nearby north coast.
