The town hosts many major events throughout the year including some major sailing events such as the Sea Shanty week in June and the Falmouth Regatta in August. The town also holds a Celebration of Music and Food with carnival atmosphere as well as the popular Oyster Festival in October not forgetting Christmas festive markets and events.\n\nThe area is home to some stunning local beaches that are family friendly and great for water sports including diving kayaking canoeing paddle boarding and sailing. There are miles of coastal paths to explore or alternatively you could take one of the many small ferry services to nearby St Mawes. Take a scenic trip down the Helford River or a wildlife safari to spot dolphins basking sharks and seals.\n\nThe local area also boasts many beautiful sub-tropical gardens including nearby Trebah Glendurgan and Trelissike.
