Pencuke Farm offers a fabulous destination for a luxurious and eco friendly holiday in Cornwall.
Idyllically located, enjoying fantastic panoramic scenery of the countryside and out to the Atlantic Ocean, the farm has five self-catering holiday cottages, each offering guests a comfortable stay in a cottage or barn conversion and luxury yurts that offer a really fun and exciting way to enjoy the great Cornish outdoors.
The farm is currently under conversion to organic and offers guests the opportunity to explore 18 acres of farmland, woods and a stream and enjoy the variety of rare breed animals onsite. We have a farm shop, selling our own meat and fresh produce as well as some other local choice suppliers for organic milk and fresh bread. Guests can also enjoy our games room with table football and a pool table and can borrow from our extensive DVD library.
Our holiday cottages
Darzona (1 bedroom – sleeps 2 plus cot)
Darzona is a pretty barn conversion and offers really spacious accommodation for two, or a couple with a baby or toddler. Typical of a barn conversion, upstairs guests can enjoy a really light, very spacious luxury bedroom with beautiful oak framed windows. It is furnished with a 6ft bed, an additional television and two armchairs, and there is still plenty of room for a cot. The shower room with w/c is downstairs. In Darzona you will find a cozy living room with a plasma television with freeview, a DVD player and an ipod dock. The large, well-equipped kitchen/diner includes a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer-dryer, oven and hob and microwave. Darzona residents have use of a really large lawn area adjacent to the cottage, ideal for playing football or cricket. Here, there is also a fantastic BBQ terrace that enjoys stunning views over the countryside and out to sea.
Appleloft (2 bedroom – sleeps 4 plus cot)
Appleloft is a 17th century cottage that can sleep up to four with plenty of space in the master bedroom for a cot. To the front, Appleloft has a good-sized private garden enclosed by an old stone wall with garden furniture and BBQ, ideal for enjoying summer evenings. This cottage has plenty of character. The main bedroom is really spacious and takes up the whole of the upstairs, with exposed beams and a quirky, slightly sloping floor. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds and the family bathroom is equipped with a bath, shower and w/c. The living room provides plenty of room for four, with a door straight out onto the garden and a log burner for the colder winter nights. It is equipped with a television with freeview, and a DVD player. The cottage has a separate dining room with views into the garden and a new, well equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The cottage has its own washing machine and there is a tumble dryer in our laundry room, which is coin operated and available to all guests.
The Roundhouse (2 bedroom - sleeps 4)
The Roundhouse is our cosiest cottage and sleeps up to four, ideal for two adults or a small family. The real feature of this property is the enclosed garden with fantastic views of the countryside and out to sea. The Roundhouse has a light, open plan kitchen and lounge with comfy sofas, a television with freeview, a DVD player, a video player and a radio/CD player. The lounge area also includes a fabulous log burner, perfect for those winter evenings. The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, the master bedroom includes a double bed and the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds. The family bathroom is simply fitted with a white suite, shower over bath, sink and toilet.
Apple Cottage (3 bedroom – sleeps 6 plus cot)
This lovely farmhouse, dating back to the 17th century, provides very spacious accommodation for six with plenty of room for additional cots. The cottage has many original features, such as beams, exposed flagstone floors and a large inglenook fireplace. At the front, the cottage enjoys its own private garden enclosed by an old stone wall.
This cottage benefits from a very spacious lounge with a flagstone floor and wood-burning stove set in an original Cornish granite inglenook - very cosy for winter evenings. The lounge is well equipped with a television and freeview, and a DVD player. There is also a spacious dining room with a table for 6, which also looks out over the garden. The beamed farmhouse-style kitchen has lovely stone walls and an old stone hearth. It is well equipped with everything you need for your stay including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. It also has a separate utility room with a washing machine, and there is a tumble dryer in our laundry room that is coin operated and available to all guests. A small porch welcomes you at the front of the property and provides really useful hallway storage. Upstairs there are three large bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and ensuite shower room and the second bedroom includes a double bed, it’s own sink and an ensuite shower room. The third beamed bedroom has two single beds and there is also a large family bathroom with bath, toilet and sink.
Skyber Barn (3 bedroom – sleeps 8 plus cot)
Skyber Barn dates back to the 19th century, but was converted just recently. Built of Cornish stone, it has a wealth of striking features such as exposed stone walls and typical of a quality barn conversion, has beautiful oak framed windows. It offers spacious accommodation with a particularly good open plan layout downstairs for entertaining. The downstairs consists of a useful entrance hall with painted stone walls and a utility area. The hallway leads through to a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen (26ft by 22ft). The kitchen is recently renovated with cream shaker style wall and base cupboards. It is well equipped with oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. The lounge area is equipped with an ipod dock, a 42” plasma television with DVD and a Sky package that includes movies. The stairs take you up to the first floor where an open landing has doors leading to all 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom. The 21ft main double bedroom has exposed roof trusses, plenty of space for an additional cot and an ensuite shower room, also with toilet and sink. Bedroom two has also been set out as a double bedroom. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds for up to 4 children, with exposed roof trusses and a painted stone wall. The family bathroom has a panelled bath, toilet and sink with heated towel rail. Skyber Barn residents have use of a really large lawn area adjacent to the cottage, ideal for playing football or cricket. There is also a fantastic BBQ terrace that enjoys stunning views over the countryside and out to sea.
Dog Friendly Holidays
Three of our holiday cottages take dogs. Appleloft (2 bed), Apple Cottage (3 bed) and Roundhouse (2 bed) all have their own private garden and cosy log burners - which is a must for any outdoor dog who wants to curl up infront of the fire after a long day of activity! Our guests really enjoy walking their dogs around the farm and we are close to fantastic countryside walking and the breathtaking coastal path.
