Caroline Cottage

Lovely light and spacious house some 50 metres from the harbour. Balcony with panoramic views over Mounts Bay. Lounge c. 18', kitchen/diner c. 20'. Plenty of books, games, dvds and kitchen equipment - our aim is to be a real "home from home" where you can

Caroline Cottage, situated in the heart of Mousehole, is a mix of the old and new. The traditional granite-fronted house was converted in the 1980's to provide the roomy upstairs living areas - plenty of space for all the family.

From our lounge balcony there are wonderful views across the harbour to Mounts Bay, St Michael's Mount and the Lizard Peninsula. Books, dvds, games, puzzles, wooden toys - no need to pack any. Our 20' kitchen/diner is a joy for cooking, eating and relaxing - the table seats 8, desk area, bookcase with plenty of local information, traditional cast-iron range, well-equipped kitchen area with plenty of crockery etc.

Bedrooms are downstairs - double + basin, twin + basin, bunks. Bathroom with bath + electric shower over, and rubber duckies :-)

Our back external steps lead into historic Keigwin Place, some 50 metres above the harbour. Our studio-room annexe, The Dungeon, is available to rent alongside the cottage, and opens directly onto Keigwin Place. Extra £200 per week at any time. Double futon, attractive fitted kitchen area, plus shower/loo.

Facilities: washing machine, dishwasher, double oven, hob, micro, TV, radio.

Paying car parks nearby - please see our map on www.carolinecottage.com. You can pull up by the house to unload and load.

Duvets, pillows and cork bathmat provided. We can arrange an optional bed linen service - payment direct to our housekeeper - so you can choose whether to save money or treat yourself!

Many of our visitors find they hardly leave the village, but if you want to explore West Cornwall there are plenty of lovely trips in easy reach of Mousehole: Marazion and St Michael's Mount, St Ives (try the scenic train run from Penzance), Sennen Cove, Lamorna and Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre. Nearby Penzance has lots of shops and restaurants, plus bus station and mainline railway station.A regular minibus runs between Penzance and Mousehole, so a car-free holiday is easy.

During high season we let by the week only, but are happy to consider short breaks at other times. Please do contact us with any queries. We have been letting since April 2001 and enjoy getting to know our visitors and making sure they are well informed.
