A warm welcome awaits visitors to Tremaine Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, run by Rosemary Philp for the last seven years. The four-star AA Gold award winning B&B boasts two spacious, comfy en-suites, one being a double king en-suite, with air bath for ultimate relaxation, whilst the two bedroom family suite is comprised of one double and one twin room with en-suite, featuring a walk-in power shower. This suite ideal for a family or a group of up to four people. Both suites are equipped with flatscreen TV, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and central heating, and are tastefully decorated with quality en-suites.
The farmhouse, which still retains its original features, is complemented by peaceful mature gardens, which encourage a host of birds and wildlife for guests to enjoy. The guest sun lounge also offers a great retreat for those seeking a little peace and quiet or a place to just unwind with an evening drink.
Breakfast is a real treat at Tremaine Farm and guests can look forward to starting the day with a hearty feast. With a choice of fruit juice, cereals, a full English breakfast, fresh tea and coffee and toast with Rosemary’s home-made preserves, you will be spoilt for choice. Also, lighter or vegetarian breakfasts may be served.
The B&B is open during the main holiday season, from Easter, as the working farm is a busy place out of season. Home to 380 breeding ewes, Tremaine Farm is a hive of activity during lambing, keeping Rosemary and John busy from mid-January right up until the end of March. Whilst guests will miss out on the lambing itself, there will be plenty of young lambs running around the surrounding fields. Reggie our collie sheepdog is always happy to meet guests on arrival.
When it comes to fun, Cornwall has a wealth of amazing attractions to enjoy and glorious landscapes to soak up. From beautiful coastal walks to stunning sandy beaches, the county’s wide open spaces are great for those who enjoy exploring, either on foot or on two wheels. The numerous National Trust properties, including Lanhydrock, Cotehele and Antony, provide an abundance of history for those who want to discover more about Cornwall’s past. The harbour towns of Looe, Polperro and Fowey are all within easy reach and have plenty of pubs and restaurants, allowing visitors to sample the local dishes and indulge a little during their holidays.
For a day out with a difference head to The Eden Project, where you can experience the sights, smells and sheer scale of the rainforest in the Humid Tropics Biome – it’s easy to see why it’s nicknamed the eighth wonder of the world. The Lost Gardens of Heligan also offer a unique experience. Home to 200 acres of Victorian productive gardens, romantic pleasure grounds, lush sub-tropical jungle and pioneering wildlife projects, these ancient gardens were rediscovered in 1990 after being left to sleep for over 70 years.
