The Royal Oak Restaurant - Lostwithiel

Very good food, but going a little bit too fancy for my liking lately.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the feel of classy restaurants, but The Oak is a pub! It's nice to have a better quality meal in a pub, but they're trying too hard to be fancy and going away from good food. We had sunday lunch there and for the price, I was disappointed - I went away still hungry. You have a good traditional feel pub with a lovely fire, then are shown a menu with fussy foods on it. Just doesn't go in my opinion.

The food is very good, I can't fault the taste nor the quality; the service isn't the best, but it's far from the worst too. All in all, you will have a good night at the Oak, make sure you book in advance though!
