The parish church of St. Hilary, dedicated to the 4th century Bishop, St Hilary of Poitiers

Although the site is significantly older the current church mostly dates back to 1855 on account of fire destroying the original church on Good Friday of 1853.

The 78 foot tower and spire survived the fire and was incorporated into the new building.

Over the last 200 years the church has suffered from neglect and it was only in the 19702 that the 'Friends of St Hilary' carried out significant restoration work, which is still ongoing.
