Description:
Looking out over the old mine workings of Rosewall hill with St Ives and the bay beyond.

Tin mining was carried out here from prehistoric times but reached its zenith in the 18th and 19th centuries with the Rosewall and Ransom mine.

The hill is riddled with old shafts and adits. Fortunately the shafts are capped but there are are few adits which go down over 600 feet.

Legend has it the mine here was inhabited by 'knockers' - mischievous little sprites that live in mines
