The Drift Stones (The Sisters) SW437283

The Drift Stones are also known as the Sisters.

As with so many of the stones in these parts the legend is they were turned to stone for not respecting the sabbath.

Drift is the name of the (village)

The stones stand at around 9ft (2.7m) tall and are a fairly rare example of paired stones.

It is thought they are related to the nearby Boscawen-Un stone circle
