Towednack Church located in the village of the same name just outside of St Ives.
The legend of why the tower is so squat and without a spire tells that the Devil himself prevented the stonemasons from completing the tower by undoing their day's work every night.
There is also a proverb associated with the tower:
"there are no cuckolds in Towednack, because there are no horns on the church tower"
