Basking Shark

Basking Sharks (Cetorhinus maximus) off the Cornish coast.
These sharks are regular visitors from April to June. They can grow to over 10 metres in length and weigh over 7 tonnes. Fortunately they only eat plankton, although having seen a few of these whilst out surfing you do tend to wonder if they might accidentally swallow you!
