Chûn Quoit sits high up on the moors of West Cornwall with panoramic views of coast and moors. A quoit is a set of large stones with a massive capstone set on top of them - as you can see Chûn Quoit fits this description. Also known as chambered tombs or portal dolmens these structure date back to the Neolithic period some 2,500 years ago. It is assumed that these sites were burial sites although any trace of human remains is long gone. The site here at Chun was obviously important as there is a large hill fort situated a few hundred meters away.
