Boxes of pollock and a bit of cod being loaded onto the quayside in St Ives after a day's fishing. As you can see there are still a few fishing boats working out of Saint Ives but the scene a hundred years ago was completely different. St Ives was built on pilchards, not tourism and this harbour was full of luggers and jumbos. Back then when the fleet returned the whole town would have been down on the harbour unloading and sorting the fish for market.
