Small boats pulled up on the banks of the River Tamar in Calstock. This pretty little town is situated on the western side of the steep Tamar Valley 14 miles upstream from Plymouth. Just over 100 years ago this would have been a busy scene with boats collecting both agricultural and mine produce to ship down to Plymouth and the sea beyond
