Along with the peacocks the boathouse at Trevarno is fairly iconic of the estate. The neo gothic boathouse with its tiled bellcote spire was added by William Bickford Smith, grandson of William Bickford, the inventor of the safety fuse. Bickford Smith was also MP for Truro
