Topic: Best Pasty in Cornwall

I'm a bit out of this one as I'm a veggie but from a West Cornwall perspective I hear McFadden's in St Just and Hampson's in Hayle do the best pasties around. Can't say I've tried either of these. I used to be quite partial to the pasties from Cindy's in Penzance but I'm sure these were made up the line somewhere. Lots of people used to rate Lavender's pasties by I never really liked these. Quite liked Philp's, but they were always treacherously hot and sometimes just too flaky.

As for veggie options, makes life much easier. I'll even eat a Warren's veggie pasty!

Re: Best Pasty in Cornwall

I love the Pastys at Polpeor Cafe at Lizard Point.

We always try to get down there at least twice during our 2 week annual holiday.

It's just fantastic home cooking coupled with a fantastic view.

My second favourite pasty is from the Galleon Beach Cafe at Polzeath.

I'm not sure if they make them onsite but I love tucking into one after a day on the beach!

Re: Best Pasty in Cornwall

I'm now trying to put together a list of the top 10 pasties in Cornwall. Any suggestions?

Re: Best Pasty in Cornwall

The Horse and Jockey in Helston is absolutely out of this world! At least it used to be, I haven't been for about 5 years but back then it was THE place to go. Fantastic taste and the big ones were BIG! Cannot speak highly enough of those pasties!

Thanks for the info - will investigate further  wink

Galleon Beach Cafe (which someone has already mentioned) gets my vote, I would say its difficult to get let down by a partie in Cornwall, we know we have a reputation to live up to!
