Topic: Pedants Corner

I receive emails every now and again, usually quite abrupt, sometimes rude, pointing out typos on the website. These are not people trying to be helpful. I get the impression most of the authors of these emails are retired and possibly angry because they can't finish their soduku or something! The most popular rant is about its vs it's and a lecture on personal pronouns and possessives. Yawn! Yes, they are typos, calm down...

Anyway, mostly for my benefit I am compiling a list of these emails here.

For the record I run this site by myself as well as studying full time and working from home with two small children.

Subject: Web Enquiry [Poor editing]

I don't know who edits your features but I suggest you sack them. Your report on Charlestown is full of childish errors, both spelling and grammatical.
If you are trying to sell the village then surely the least you can do is provide the public with a well-written, grammatically correct description, rather than something that appears to have been written by a poorly-educated teenager.
