I love this place. The farm animals are so friendly, we had to dray the kids away! Safe for kids to play and run around. Lovely staff that know there stuff.
Yes its a bit pricey if you are a large family.
We have been in the summer and winter, we got all the animals to ourseleves in the winter, but there wasnt AS much going on, but a great way to spend a crisp Febuary day when we had a morning to kill.

The Bird Paradise - Hayle

I remember this place when it was called the Bird Paradise. It has moved on a bit from then but the collection is still primarily birds. The original collection was mostly parrots, macaws etc - in my opinion these are probably the least interesting of the birds. I was particularly taken by the owls, especially the great grey and the appropriately named little owl. Other birds include penguins, flamingos and others ranging from the weird to the wonderful.
The other animals include otters, farm animals and acrobatic chipmunks.
We visited in January, which is probably about as out of season as you can get. There wasn't much going on so the place was more like a zoo than anywhere promoting conservation. Also there wasn't a great deal of entertainment for the younger visitors who would probably get bored fairly quickly. But as I said this was out of season. However, the admission charge was a bit steep at £6.50 for an adult considering the time of year assuming you get morefor your money in the summer
