Lower Trevorgus Estate - Padstow

A traditional farmhouse and cottage combining contemporary facilities in rural Cornish countryside.

Tucked away on the rugged north Cornwall coast between Newquay and Padstow, the beautiful village of St Merryn is ideally positioned for exploring the array of beautiful beaches and varied landscape stretching along the coastline. In addition Padstow is noted for its’ busy harbour, restaurants serving fresh local cuisine and the variety of walks and cycling trails in the surrounding area.

By combining the Georgian stone farmhouse of Lower Trevorgus House with the barn conversion of Garden Cottage, the whole property can comfortably cater for fourteen guests across its six bedrooms and shared living areas. The combined properties perfectly lend themselves to catering for families and guests who wish to have their own space, such as grand parents or grown up children, whilst remaining part of a large group. The extendable dining table within the House provides the perfect focal point for family meals and gatherings whilst the spacious garden and patio area is ideal for al fresco dining surrounded by wonderful countryside.

With St Merryn ideally positioned just 4 miles from Padstow and 11 miles from Newquay it comes as no surprise that along the coast and surrounding area there are a variety of scenic walks and cycle routes waiting to be discovered. The St Merryn village motto is aptly entitled “Seven Bays for Seven Day” and refers to the seven beaches within the parish Trevone Bay, Harlyn Bay, Mother Iveys Bay, Boobies Bay, Constantine Bay, Treyarnon Bay and Porthcothan Bay, all of which offer a different coastal experience.

Just a short distance away is the popular fishing port of Padstow, characterised by its harbour ambience and reputation for gourmet restaurants. A pleasant and relaxing place to wander around, the medieval network of lanes wind through the small town with most leading to the picturesque harbour. A variety of boat trips regularly depart from the harbour, offering cruises and fishing trips along with a ferry across the estuary to Rock.

Heading down the coast and you will find the thriving surf town of Newquay, renowned worldwide for its surfing culture including the legendary Fistral Beach along with an array of popular surf spots. Those who prefer to keep their feet dry will be also spoilt for choice over which beach to relax on and soak up the magnificent Cornish scenery or perhaps dine the night away at any number of acclaimed restaurants serving fine local produce.

Travelling further inland you can easily spend a day visiting an array of popular attractions including the iconic Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan or Truro which is the historic county capital. For a relaxing experience stroll around any number of historic houses, stately homes and gardens owned by the National Trust and positioned in magnificent surroundings showcasing the Cornish landscape.
