Summercourt Information, History, Acommodation and more

Summercourt is a village in mid Cornwall, centred on the old intersection between the A30 and the main Newquay to St Austell road, the A3058. The A30 has now been diverted around the village, which is home to a McDonald's and a food hall selling local produce, both within easy distance of the A30.

Summercourt school is the oldest in the area, dating back to 1828, while Summercourt Fair is the longest-established fair in Cornwall, dating back more than eight hundred years. Held every year in the last week of September, Summercourt Fair is thought to have evolved from the 'Long Fayre' held at Bodmin, records of which date back to the eleventh century. The fair moved to Summercourt during the reign of King Edward II in the early part of the fourteenth century. The modern fair takes the form of a gigantic travelling funfair and a big produce market, usually held on the monday.

There are two pubs in Summercourt one of which is the London Inn.
