Scorrier Information, History, Acommodation and more

Scorrier is a village lying just off the A30 two miles north of Redruth. Scorrier is part of the Gwennap Mining District of the 'Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site' and home to the HQ of Rodda's Cornish Clotted Cream.

Just to the south of the village lies Scorrier House, built in 1778 by John William with the fortune he had made from the tin mining industry. In the nineteenth century the gardens were taken over by the noted plant collecter, William Lobb, who grew many rare plants there. Today Scorrier House is available for weddings and functions and the gardens are open to the public by appointment.
