Fraddon Information, History, Acommodation and more

Like Indian Queens, this village used to be dominated by the busy A30 which now bypasses it, leaving it to be the typical Cornish village that it is. Its pub, the Blue Anchor Inn, is renowned for being the first place the king’s messenger stopped for rest and refreshment on his journey to announce the victory of Trafalgar.

Fraddon Also of interest is the fact that Mebyon Kernow, the political party campaigning for increased self-government in the county, is based here.

At the side of the busy by-pass is the Kingsley Village Food and Craft Hall. Only a few years old, this large-scale venture is aimed at increasing the sale of local produce and craft. Cornish cheeses, meats and ales are some of the many products on sale and over 100 different crafts are displayed here by people often around to demonstrate their trade. A good stop off point on your way home, perhaps.
